Prayer for the Souls in Purgatory

Eternal Father, I offer You the Most Precious Blood of Your Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory. Amen.

Our Lord told Saint Gertrude the Great that prayer would release 1000 souls from Purgatory each time it is said. Approval and Recommendation by Cardinal Pahiarca, Lisbon, Portugal, March 4, 1936.

September 11th has been established as the annual Knights of Columbus World Day of Prayer for Peace. Supreme is encouraging all Knights to participate in a common Prayer as follows:

“With you, O Mother of the Redeemer, may the hymn of the humble and the poor rise to almighty God: may he, the merciful one, bring peace to earth, reconcile brothers at enmity, confound Cain, make Abel rise again; may he bring all of creation to the design he had at the beginning in the love of the Son, in the grace of the Holy Spirit, Amen.”

Pope John Paul II

Prayer Suggestions:

Eternal Father,

We lift up to you these and all the

priests of the world. Sanctify them.

Heal and guide them. Mold them into

the likeness and holiness of your Son,

Jesus, and Eternal High Priest. May

their lives be pleasing to you. In

Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Additional Suggestions:

Mass, Rosary, Fasting, Day Offering,

Eucharistic Adoration, Offering of

Sufferings, Divine Mercy Chaplet

or whatever the Lord inspires you

to offer Him.

My God, I Pray for all Your priests and beseech You to sanctify them. Let them love their sacrifice deeply so that they may live it lovingly.

I beg You, grant them obedience, a spirit of detachment, a chastity which is consistent and true, a spirit of self-denial, humility, sweetness, zeal and dedication.

I beg You that all of those who may approach them may leave them with a greater love for you. My God, I pray that, through them, Your Kingdom on earth may grow and be strengthened. O JESUS, I promise with all my heart to sacrifice myself with you. Amen.

The Church from the Eucharist

On August 21, 2004, Adam Cardinal Maida presided over the 2004-2005 Michigan Knights of Columbus Installation of State Officers and District Deputies. Within his homily, Cardinal Maida explained that Pope John Paul II dedicates each year to a particular aspect of the faith. Pope John Paul II has dedicated the 2004-2005 year to "The Church from the Eucharist, the mystery of Christ's presence on the Alter". The Papal Encyclical "Ecclesia de Eucharistia" was original presented on Holy Thursday, 2003. Cardinal Maida encouraged each council to present this Papal Encyclical to its members to further our understanding of this great mystery and deepen our spirituality.
