Grand Knights Message: Brothers,
In May your council celebrated The Ascension of the Lord and Pentecost. We helped our sister council at Holy Name Parish, in Birmingham, host their first Spaghetti Dinner, to benefit St. Christine’s Soup Kitchen and Food Bank. Your council also participated in the First Mass for Rev. Charles Altermat, a brother Knight, at which Most Rev. Bishop Flores was the homilist. We honored our Armed Forces, sent 2 representatives the 2008 State Convention, celebrate Corpus Christi, marched in the Memorial Day Parade, and laid a wreath at the memorial service in the cemetery afterward.
We wish to congratulate newly elected State Officers for the 2008-2009 Fraternal Year:
State Deputy: John R. “Bob” Moody State Secretary: Thomas A. Marcetti Sr. State Treasurer: Michael J. Malinowski State Advocate: Robert W. Fox State Warden: Kenneth B. Unterbrink
Baskets, such as those provided by your council, raffled off at the State Convention, along with matching funds from the Detroit Free Press, generated over $27,000 for Holy Cross Children’s Services.
In June we will elect our Council Officer for the 2008-2009 Fraternal year.
Vivat Jesus, Mark L. Palmer Grand Knight
