Ladies Supplement.........April 2006

SUCCESSFUL SOUP SUPPER

On March 20th, over 163 bowls of soup were served at our Soup Supper with the Shrine Religious formation students, parents and teachers. The Knights were asked to mark it on their schedules for next year as well. Many thanks to the Knights that helped and Judy Maten, Janie Lynch and Colleen Marchese for all of their coordination and efforts to make this a successful dinner. I would like to thank all the ladies that helped out at this event.  With my new work schedule I was unable to attend, but thanks to all, this event was a great success.

PASTA, PASTA, PASTA...........

On Saturday April 29th, Grand Knight John Iannotti, Deputy Grand Knight Mark Palmer and Brother and Sir Knight Tony Recchia will be in the kitchen with their own “special ingredients” for the first annual pasta dinner at the Shrine Grade School cafeteria. Dinner will be served from 5pm-7pm at a cost of $6.00 for adults, $5.00 for seniors and children. Everyone is invited.

Because it is also First Communion, there will be “reserved tables” for the First Communion children and their families. Help in the kitchen, serving and clean up is always welcome. Call John Iannotti at 586-731-1779 or Mark Palmer at 248-588-3469 to volunteer to help.

State Convention...............

The annual State Convention is just around the corner.  This year Shrine council will be donating 2 baskets for a silent auction benefiting Holy Cross Children’s Services.  The first will be “Wines of the World” and the second will be “Out to Lunch”. The first is self explanatory but the second will consist of gift certificates from various fast food restaurants. Please contact Pat Iannotti at 586-731-1779 to help out.  I will also be at the conference center for the MI drive most of the weekend of April 7-9 if you would like to drop off any donations at that time. Help is needed to put the baskets together and purchase items.   As soon as I speak with Arlene Marcetti, wife of State Advocate Tom Marcetti, I will have the final cut-off dates.

This council is 100+ members strong and I think we can do an outstanding job with these baskets if we get enough people to volunteer their time and donations.

Fish Fry updates.............

The fundraising fish fry, all you can eat, dinners with sister council #4188, are continuing to have a fantastic turnout. Since the weekly fish fry’s started during lent, we have drawn over 200 every week and we have two more weeks to go. Come on out to the Fr Lynch council in Clawson and help out if you can, if not, take the family out to dinner. Dinner is served from 4:30pm to 7pm at a cost of only $8.00 per person.
