Grand Knights Message: Hey, did you hear that Wal-Mart is having a weekend sale of 75% off of everything every weekend?
Did you hear that Jesus is coming?
Now that I have your attention….Which question grabbed your attention quicker? We get so wrapped up in sales and how much money we are going to spend this time of the year. As I was working on my gift giving list, I had to catch myself and think that I too am wrapped up in the hype of Christmas………excuse me, holiday season. I further got frustrated when recently a local city voted not to display the Nativity scene in public. So who are we serving nowadays...Jesus our Savior or someone else? As we prepare for Christmas I hope that each of you take time out and reflect on the TRUE MEANING of CHRISTMAS.
A couple of reminders, that our first meeting this month, December 12th, will be our council Christmas party beginning at 7pm. I would like the officers to meet at 6:30 to conduct any business for the council. Our second meeting of the month, December 26th, is going to be cancelled due to the birth of our Savior. Although our meetings will be limited this month, activities continue. We have our 3rd annual parish turkey dinner on December 9th. On December 10th we have a corporate communion and celebrate Our Lady of Guadalupe at a 4:00 Mass. Prior to the mass, beginning at 12:30, we will be wrapping the Sweatshirts for our Sweatshirts for Kids project. Delivery to Brother Francis and Holy Cross Children’s services is set for Saturday December 16th. On Saturday December 30th at the 8:30 am Mass, we will be remembering our Brother John Kelly with a memorial mass. Please join us to remember John. To help us remember this month’s activities, I have attached a December activities calendar. We will also be making phone calls and sending out reminder Emails throughout the month.
On behalf of my wife and children I would like to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Vivat Jesus!
John Iannotti, Grand Knight

What is Corporate Communion? By: Brother Terry Kilbride The word corporate by definition is a united group. The Knights of Columbus celebrate a Corporate Communion to bring all Knights together to demonstrate unity for the celebration of the Mass and Eucharist. The Assembly Color Corp participates so it is a very festive occasion. The council at the National Shrine of the Little Flower has over 112 Knights. We encourage all to make these events a future priority.
