April 23 The Knights will be gathering Rosary Prayer Pledges from people across Michigan during a 57 day pilgrimage to be prayed during 2005 for: Word Peace; Parish Intentions; Canonization of Fr. McGivney, Bishop Fredrick Barga & Fr. Solanus Casey; Intentions of the Pope; and Reparations of Sins. The Rosary is a prayer of great significance, destined to bring forth a harvest of holiness, and it blends easily into the spiritual journey of Christian life. Accompanying this pledge drive is a famous sacremental of the Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima. Shrine Parish has been chosen by Cardinal Maida to host this valuable artifact of the church which was sculpted in 1947 by Jose Thedim, based on the description of Sr. Lucia, one of the 3 young children who saw Our Lady in 1917 in Fatima, Portugal. Many miracles and graces are reported wherever the statue travels. Make time to look into the eyes of the statue in private prayer. Our date is Saturday, April 23 at 12:00 noon to 9:00p. Vocations Pledge . . . . Fr. McGivney Chair Each knight has been asked to pledge $1.00 per month for ten years towards vocations. This does not seem like much, but when you consider that there are over 70,000 knights in the state of Michigan, it adds up. This money will go to upgrade Sacred Heart Major Seminary. It will also allow us to upgrade the education programs at the seminary and provide scholarships and grants to the members of the religious community taking classes there.
