Grand Knights Message......... ................. Dear Brother Knights, As the calendar turns and a new month starts, so does a new fraternal year. First please make plans and attend our councils Officer installation on Tuesday evening July 26th beginning at 7:30p in the Church. State Officers have been invited to attend and it would be great for them to see a good membership turnout. A reception will follow in the new Church conference center. I ask that ALL OFFICERS MAKE EVERY ATTEMPT TO ATTEND.
Now, I would like to share some goals for our council during this year:
These are just a few of the goals for our council this fraternal year. Yes, the load seems heavy, but if we all work together and give some time, the load will become very light and we will all reap the rewards.
Vivat Jesus!
Giovanni Iannotti Grand Knight
Church Gardens We have taken the responsible for maintaining a section of the church gardens and have fallen behind in our weed extraction and need to address a more concentrated effort in maintaining our churchs presence on Woodward Avenue. If you have some spare time, please help groom our section of the garden.
Election Results............ ........................... Our annual election of officers was held on June 14. The following knights were elected to our council positions:
Installation of Officers......... .......July 26Thanks to all of you, we had a successful Installation of Officers. The turnout was outstanding. A great load of thanks goes to the wives for a delicious spread during the reception.

Special Thanks to Joe Chase for organizing the fundraiser, the Squires who provided the leg work collecting and all who contributed to the effort.

Backpack Project . Ends Sept 11 Our backpack project is in full swing and barrels have been placed around the entrance ways to the church. There has been an indication that some of the donations have been liberated by local street persons. In an effort to insure the donations go to the school children in need, we ask all Knights/Spouses to check the barrels and remove any donations and hold them. Contact John Iannotti he will arrange transfer.
Blood Donations .. The State has decided to make a concerted effort this year to account for all blood donated by our order. As a council, we are working towards sponsoring blood drives throughout the year. Each individual act of donating blood, by our membership, will be counted towards our overall charitable works. If you donate blood, one time or on a regular basis, please contact Mark Palmer so he can track our council participation. This applies to any act of donating blood, not just a K of C sponsored drive. Remember, Blood Saves Lives!
Fruits of Your Labors . On June 11, 2005, Norm Brault, John Iannotti, John Kelly, Terry Kilbride and Dick Tschirhart traveled to Rose Hill Center in Holly, MI. Rose Hill is a private, non-profit, residential facility for the treatment and rehabilitation of the mentally ill. The Shrine Council presented Mr. Dan Kelly, Chairman of Rose Hill, with a check for $2,000. These funds were part of the money raised during the annual Tootsie Roll Drive for the mentally disadvantaged. As a result of this visit, Dan Kelly transferred to the Shrine Council.
